About me
Abdulrahman Abotaleb is a Yemeni Internet governance expert, engineer, and science journalist based in the Netherlands. He is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Yemen Science Network, the first independent platform dedicated to science communication in Yemen and the broader Arab region. His work bridges technical Internet governance, digital policy, and public-interest journalism.
He is a two-time ICANN Fellow and an active contributor within NCUC, NCSG, and APRALO spaces. Abdulrahman has engaged extensively in multistakeholder Internet governance processes at regional and global levels, with a particular focus on digital rights, Internet resilience, DNS governance, and meaningful Global South participation in policy development.
He previously served as a Program Committee Member of the Asia-Pacific School on Internet Governance (APSIG), as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (AIGF) and as a member of ESCWA’s experts community of technology and innovation. He is also an alumnus of the Internet Society Community Fellowship and Mid-Career Fellowship programs, as well as fellowships from MEAC-SIG, APSIG and RIPE NCC.
In addition to his policy work, Abdulrahman serves as Producer of the Internet Changemakers podcast, where he highlights leaders and innovators shaping the evolution of the Internet, governance frameworks, and digital inclusion efforts worldwide.
Through his combined technical, policy, and media expertise, he works to strengthen multistakeholder dialogue, promote accountable Internet governance, and expand capacity-building initiatives across the Middle East and beyond.
